Hungarian banks OTP, MBH, and Erste announce service outages
Major Hungarian banks, including OTP, MBH, and Erste Bank, have announced several scheduled IT maintenance periods that will result in temporary service disruptions for customers.
OTP Bank will suspend its card payment system, including POS terminals, online payments, and cash withdrawals, for approximately 90 minutes starting at 1 AM on August 25. Additionally, the Persely savings service will be unavailable all day on August 30.
MBH Bank has scheduled multiple maintenance windows. On August 27, personal loan services in the mobile app will be unavailable from 7:30 PM to 10 PM, followed by potential SMS authentication issues from 10 PM until 2 AM on August 28. Investment platforms may face limited functionality on August 28 and 29. Further disruptions are expected on September 5 for the former Budapest Bank Netbank service, and a significant outage is planned for September 28 starting at 10 PM, affecting the MBH Bank App and Netbank.
Erste Bank customers should prepare for two extended outages: from 10 PM on September 18 until 10 AM on September 19, and from 10 PM on October 1 until 3 AM on October 2. During these times, the George App, TeleBank, corporate netbanking, and instant transfers will be unavailable.
