Hungarian community events held in Transcarpathia and Vojvodina

Various cultural and community events were held for Hungarian populations in Transcarpathia and Vojvodina. In Transcarpathia, the Kárpátaljai Magyar Nagycsaládosok Egyesület (KMNE) organized a hiking excursion on September 19, 2026. The group visited several landmarks near Mukachevo, including the Kenderesi Feszty lookout, the Szökellő waterfall near Kékesfüred, and the historical tea plantations on Vörös-hegy, concluding with a climb to Lovacska-hegy.

In Kishegyes, the LITERAtúra 2026 event focused on preserving literary heritage. During the event, Anikó Jerasz and Károly Kovács, representatives of the Alliance of Hungarians in Vojvodina, participated in discussions regarding the importance of mother-tongue education and the maintenance of cultural institutions such as libraries and schools. Jerasz emphasized the need for educators and parents to foster curiosity and linguistic identity within the community to ensure the future of Hungarian culture in the region.
