Hungarian community mourns educator Terbe Józsefné and actor Madaras József

The Hungarian community is mourning the loss of two notable figures. Terbe Józsefné, known affectionately as Csöpi néni, passed away at the age of 88. A dedicated educator and community organizer in Dunakeszi, she served as a teacher and deputy principal at the Bárdos Lajos Primary School for 45 years. Beyond the classroom, she was a passionate naturalist who led nature camps in the Börzsöny mountains for four decades and was a member of the Hungarian Ornithological and Nature Conservation Society.

Additionally, the life of Kossuth Prize-winning actor Madaras József is being remembered. Known for his powerful portrayals of folk heroes and working-class characters, Madaras had a significant career in Hungarian theater and television. The actor was noted for his intense talent and his personal journey from a modest upbringing to becoming a highly respected figure in the arts.
