Hungarian Defence Forces adopt Glock E-Tool

The Hungarian Defence Forces have moved to procure the Glock E-Tool to replace aging infantry entrenching tools. For decades, the military relied on stocks inherited from the era of the Hungarian People's Army, but continuous depreciation and improper disposal led to shortages and the distribution of faulty equipment.

The selected replacement, the Glock E-Tool, is produced by the Austrian manufacturer Glock and is already utilized by the Austrian Bundesheer and the Danish military. Unlike traditional metal-handled tools, the Glock model features a high-strength polymer handle, which keeps the total weight at approximately 670 grams. The tool consists of a 25-centimeter steel head and a telescopic handle that extends to 65 centimeters, allowing it to function as a shovel or a pick.
