Balásy Gyula's Lounge Event contract terminated by Hungarian Prime Minister's Office

The Hungarian Prime Minister's Office (Miniszterelnökség) announced the termination of its framework contract with Lounge Event Kft., a company owned by Balásy Gyula. The decision cites an enforcement proceeding launched on 8 July 2026 against the firm, which has not informed the ministry about the case, creating a risk to the contract’s fulfilment. The termination is part of a broader review of state contracts following the recent government change; similar agreements with New Land Media and Lounge Design were also cancelled.

Balásy had earlier offered his business group to the state, but subsequent criminal investigations, bank‑account freezes and payment difficulties prompted the government to scrutinise the companies. The Ministry emphasized the need for efficient, lawful use of public funds and the protection of national assets.

The move reflects the new administration’s policy of re‑examining public‑sector procurement and ensuring that state contracts are awarded and executed transparently and without financial risk.
