Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Service launches school supply campaign
The Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Service has launched its ‘Back to School Together!’ charity campaign, assembling 120 school supply packages in Budapest one week before the start of the academic year. While the organization is providing essential supplies to the most disadvantaged families, this year’s initiative places a specific emphasis on long-term educational development.
In addition to the physical supplies, the organization is raising funds to finance 2,000 developmental hours aimed at helping underprivileged children catch up with their peers throughout the school year. Kristóf Gáncs, president of the Hungarian Ecumenical Aid Service, noted that while school supplies provide tangible immediate help, continuous presence and support are what offer children a real chance at academic success.
The event featured volunteers including singer Kati Wolf and Olympic champion swimmer Dániel Gyurta. The campaign is supported by strategic partner E.ON, and donations can be made via a dedicated telephone line, SMS, or the organization’s website.
