Esztergom to Host EFOTT Festival Starting in 2027

Hungary’s national student festival, EFOTT, celebrated its 50th edition at the Velencei‑tó lakeside in July 2026, marking the final event at that venue. At a press conference, MP Radnai Márk announced that from 2027 the festival will relocate to the historic city of Esztergom, signing a ten‑year cooperation agreement with the municipality led by Mayor Hernádi Ádám. The move follows years of complaints from local residents about noise and crowding at the lake.

The relocation comes with a change of leadership: Lasztovicza Gábor replaces Zelenák Márk as festival director. Organisers expect up to 20,000 daily visitors, featuring more than 150 Hungarian acts, sports, innovation and career‑building programmes. A strategic partnership with the MOL Group was also signed. The line‑up for the 2026 edition included Presser Gábor, Kiss Tibi, Lovasi András, Korda György, Balázs Klári and many other popular bands, underscoring the event’s cultural significance.

The city hopes the new venue will boost tourism and showcase the festival to V4 partners.
