Hungarian Film Days 2026 to feature screenings across Transylvania
The 2026 Hungarian Film Days, known as Filmtettfeszt, will take place from October 7 to 11 across 18 locations in Transylvania. The festival features a selection of recent Hungarian productions, including feature films, documentaries, and animations, as well as cult classics.
This year's edition emphasizes cross-cultural and multilingual encounters, with many co-productions featuring languages such as Chinese, German, English, Czech, and Slovak. Screenings will be available in cities including Cluj-Napoca, Oradea, Sibiu, Arad, Timișoara, Satu Mare, Baia Mare, Sfântu Gheorghe, Săcele, Târgu Secuiesc, Miercurea Ciuc, Carei, Gherla, Săvădisla, Covasna, Odorheiu Secuiesc, Joseni, and Vlăhița.
Admission to the festival is free, and films will include Romanian subtitles. The official opening will be held at the Victoria cinema in Cluj-Napoca, featuring the screening of the tragicomedy ‘Parter’ directed by Gábor Reisz. The program includes 14 fiction feature films, some of which are making their Romanian premieres after appearing at major European festivals.
