Hungarian football league ranks second in Europe for youth minutes

The Hungarian top-flight football league (NB I) has been ranked as the second-best league in Europe regarding ‘youth minutes,’ according to data from the International Centre for Sport Studies (CIES). The league follows the Danish top division, with the Hungarian league accounting for 26 percent of playing time for athletes aged 21 and under.

Despite this statistical success in the professional league, the Hungarian U21 national team has faced significant challenges. Since the beginning of 2025, the U21 squad has recorded only one victory in 11 matches, consisting of six friendlies and five European Championship qualifiers. The team currently sits near the bottom of its qualifying group.

In club news, DVSC is preparing for its 102nd league encounter against MTK at the Nagyerdei Stadion. Additionally, DVSC player Ádám Lang recently reached a milestone of 50 league matches for the club.
