Hungarian forint shows mixed opening against major currencies
The Hungarian forint began the 36th week of the year with minor fluctuations against major currencies. On Monday morning, the euro was trading at approximately 365.26 HUF, compared to 365.25 HUF on Friday evening. The US dollar stood at 315.14 HUF, up from 314.90 HUF, while the Swiss franc was priced at 389.32 HUF, slightly down from 389.47 HUF.
Compared to the previous Monday's opening, the forint showed weakness, declining by 0.9% against the euro, 1.7% against the dollar, and 0.5% against the Swiss franc. However, since the beginning of the year, the currency has strengthened by 5% against the euro, 3.8% against the dollar, and 5.8% against the Swiss franc.
On the Budapest Stock Exchange, Mol Group shares crossed the 5,000 HUF psychological threshold, while OTP Bank saw a minimal decline in its share price.
