Hungarian forint strengthens against euro and dollar

The Hungarian forint experienced significant strengthening against major currencies during Thursday trading and into Friday morning. The euro fell from approximately 365 forints to around 362.5 forints, marking a level not seen in two months. The forint also gained ground against the US dollar, the Swiss franc, and regional currencies including the Polish zloty and Czech koruna.

Market factors contributing to the forint's performance included successful Hungarian government bond auctions, which saw higher-than-expected demand, and fluctuations in the US dollar following central bank interest rate decisions. However, the forint's gains faced some volatility by Friday afternoon, as rising oil prices and news from the Middle East exerted downward pressure on the currency.
