Hungarian man wanted for sexual assault captured near German‑French border
A 33‑year‑old Hungarian man, originally named K. László and later changed to Cs. László, was wanted for multiple offences including sexual assault, domestic violence and a 6‑year‑6‑month prison sentence. After failing to begin his sentence, he fled abroad, changed his surname and moved across several European countries. Through joint efforts of the Hungarian Készenléti Rendőrség Nemzeti Nyomozó Iroda and German authorities, and using the ENFAST European target‑search network, he was located and arrested on 28 July in Saarbrücken, a town on the German‑French border. He is now in German custody pending an extradition decision to Hungary. The capture resulted from coordinated information exchange between Hungarian, German and French law‑enforcement agencies and the issuance of European arrest warrants under his new name.
