Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis) can be easily multiplied in Hungary by taking semi‑woody cuttings during the summer months. Growers are advised to select healthy 10‑12 cm shoots, strip the lower leaves, make a shallow cut at the base and root them in a moist, well‑draining mix of peat and sand or perlite. Covering the pot with transparent film or a small greenhouse maintains humidity and promotes rooting.

For lavender, horticultural expert Michael Griffiths recommends pruning in late summer (typically August‑September) rather than in autumn. The cutback should remove old, woody stems after the main flowering period but before the plant begins to dry and set seed. Proper pruning prevents the shrub from becoming leggy and ensures abundant blooms and a compact form for the following season.
