Hungarian government under probe over gold convoy case and state media funding

Hungary’s authorities are investigating several high‑profile matters. Prosecutors have questioned Hajdu János, a suspect in the gold‑convoy scandal, and are examining accusations of illegal detention of Ukrainians, including a reported phone call between Hajdu and Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

In parliament, the Tisza Party voted to dissolve the Sovereignty Protection Office and approved a law freezing mayoral salaries.
