Hungarian health experts stress activity over frequent meals and recommend protein‑rich, veggie‑focused dinners for loss

Research cited by Hungarian nutrition specialists shows that eating every two to three hours provides only a minimal boost to metabolism because digestion consumes roughly 10 % of the calories ingested. Physical activity, by contrast, has a far larger effect on total daily energy expenditure.

For sustainable weight loss the experts advise that dinner should be built around lean protein sources such as grilled chicken, turkey, fish, eggs, low‑fat cottage cheese, Greek yogurt or tofu, complemented by abundant non‑starchy vegetables (broccoli, zucchini, peppers, leafy greens, etc.). A modest portion of whole‑grain carbohydrates like brown rice, quinoa or whole‑grain bread is acceptable, while heavy fried foods, large late‑night meals and high‑sugar items should be avoided. Portion control and leaving at least two to three hours between the final meal and bedtime are also recommended.
