Hungarian Health Ministry Dismisses Three Senior Medical Leaders in Primary Care Overhaul
State Secretary Porpáczy Krisztina, responsible for primary care in Hungary's Ministry of Health, has initiated the removal of three national collegiate professional leaders: family‑doctor chief Békássy Szabolcs, child‑doctor chief Muzsay Géza and dental chief Róbert Gszelmann. The dismissals were justified by the expiration of their three‑year mandates in 2023, the absence of new recruitment calls, and alleged deficiencies in coordination, organization and moral legitimacy within the primary‑care leadership system.
To maintain continuity, interim appointments were proposed: Soós Zoltán to temporarily head the family‑doctor responsibilities, Rósa Ágnes for child‑doctor duties, and Dull Zoltán for dental leadership. The ministry also announced the start of a restructuring process for primary‑care provision and the preparation of new application procedures for the vacant leadership posts.
