Hungarian literary figures Ferenc Keszeli and Sándor Tsúszó in news

The Hungarian-language literary community is marking the passing of Ferenc Keszeli, a prominent poet and journalist from the Felvidék region. Keszeli, born in Bratislava in 1947, died at the age of 79. His career spanned several decades, including roles as a correspondent for MTI in Bratislava and contributions to various publications such as Hét riportere and Nap. He received several honors, including the Gold Medal of Merit of the Republic of Hungary and the Táncsics Mihály Prize.

In a separate literary development, author Sándor Tsúszó has raised concerns regarding inaccuracies in a recent 800-page handbook of Carpathian Basin Hungarian literature published by Améry Ratiokiadó. Tsúszó noted discrepancies in his own biographical data, where editors listed conflicting dates of death (2007 and 2012), and criticized the publication for its perceived regional biases in the selection of authors from Transylvania and Upper Hungary.
