Hungarian men's handball NB I season approaches amid All Star selections

The 2026/27 season of the Hungarian men's handball NB I is set to begin, with Veszprém and PICK Szeged expected to compete for the championship, while Tatabánya and Győri ETO University HT vie for bronze.

Following the 2025/26 season, PICK Szeged saw significant roster changes, including the departures of goalkeeper Tobias Thulin and several key players, replaced by new arrivals such as Nikola Portner and Dmitro Horiha. Veszprém also underwent transitions, losing players like Bjarki Már Elísson and Rodrigo Corrales, while adding Danish goalkeeper Emil Nielsen.

In recognition of individual performances from the previous season, the Hungarian Handball Federation announced the All Star team. Two PICK Szeged players were selected: Roland Mikler as the top goalkeeper and Mario Sostaric as the best right winger. Other notable selections include Hugo Descat and Dragan Pechmalbec from Veszprém, and István Mátés as the season's best player and top scorer.
