Hungarian municipalities adjust budgets and social welfare programs
Municipalities in Hungary are conducting budget amendments and addressing social welfare measures.
In Csabacsűd, the local council increased its budget to 634,174,000 HUF. This growth is largely driven by a 66.1 million HUF EU grant for green area development and 8.46 million HUF for climate control equipment. Additionally, the budget for the local Social Institution and Kitchen was raised to 123,483,000 HUF following state support for staff supplements. Other allocations include funds for storm recovery, cultural tasks, and student summer work.
In Sümeg, the municipal council has scheduled a meeting to discuss the 2026 budget amendments and the first-half execution of the current year. The agenda includes regulations for social firewood support, kindergarten teacher salary adjustments, and the development plan for the local sewage and wastewater treatment system spanning 2027–2036. The council will also address participation in the Bursa Hungarica program.
