Hungarian municipalities honor citizens for community service
Local municipalities in Hungary have honored citizens for their lifelong contributions to their communities.
In Gyál, Kovács Istvánné Aranka was awarded the title of Honorary Citizen of Gyál during the August 20th city celebrations. A teacher by profession, she was recognized for her extensive work in education and community building, including her leadership in school sports and cultural activities since beginning her career at the Rákóczi school.
In Szegvár, the Szegvárért Memorial Medal was awarded to Vígh Károlyné Berkecz Magdolna and Magyar Pál. Berkecz Magdolna was recognized for her leadership of the Fuszulyka Club, which supports local seniors, and her involvement in senior dance programs and volunteer work with the Red Cross and the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service.
