Hungarian National Museum launches major Attila exhibition

The Hungarian National Museum in Budapest opened a major exhibition titled “Attila – The Legend and Reality” on 23 January 2026, scheduled to run until 12 July 2026. The show presents around 400 artefacts spanning 1,600 years of Hun history, drawn from 13 countries and 64 museums, including loans from the British Museum, Louvre Abu Dhabi and the National Museum of Uzbekistan.

The exhibition combines archaeological finds, historical documents, artworks and modern scientific perspectives such as archaeogenetics to explore the myth and factual legacy of the Hun leader. A programme of conferences, lectures, workshops, family activities and a museum shop offering replica jewellery and accessories accompanies the display.
