The Hungarian Parliament has voted to suspend the legal immunity of three high-profile figures: Prime Minister Péter Magyar, former minister Miklós Seszták, and former minister Balázs Hankó.

Seszták was taken into custody after voluntarily reporting to the prosecutor's office. He is suspected of accepting over 11 billion HUF in bribes between 2015 and 2018 in connection with Volánbusz contracts. Seszták has denied the allegations, suggesting the investigation might be part of a plea bargain.

Balázs Hankó's immunity was suspended following allegations of breach of trust related to the misuse of public funds. Hankó has remained within the Parliament building, stating he is waiting for authorities and denying that the proceedings are anything other than politically motivated.

Péter Magyar's immunity was lifted following a probe into a 2024 incident where he allegedly stole a mobile phone and threw it into the Danube. Magyar has dismissed the charges as a political provocation.
