Hungarian Parliament erupts in heated dispute during session

A heated confrontation occurred in the Hungarian Parliament during a session led by Anikó Hallerné Nagy. The dispute involved several Fidesz representatives, including János Pócs and György Balla.

The tension escalated after Péter Magyar's remarks regarding rural development. János Pócs requested to speak due to personal involvement regarding road developments and fuel prices, but Hallerné Nagy withdrew his right to speak, citing a lack of sufficient grounds for personal involvement. After being ordered to step down three times, the situation intensified when György Balla challenged the presiding officer's application of parliamentary rules.

Balla criticized Hallerné Nagy's leadership style, leading to a verbal altercation where the representative was instructed to stop shouting, gesturing, and banging on the table. Hallerné Nagy eventually silenced Balla's microphone and reminded the assembly that the chamber is ‘not a playground.’
