Hungarian Parliament monthly housing and office costs exceed 74 million forints

Data released by the Hungarian Parliament Office reveals that the state spends over 74 million forints monthly on housing and office rentals for members of parliament. Of this total, 30.6 million forints is allocated to renting apartments for 72 politicians, while an additional 44 million forints is spent on office spaces.

The average monthly rent for a parliamentary apartment is 425,000 forints, which significantly exceeds the Budapest market median of approximately 270,000 forints. Members of the Tisza Party are noted for renting the most expensive accommodations. László Bugya holds the highest monthly rent at 523,797 forints for a 79-square-meter apartment, followed closely by Mihály Balogh and István Szabadi.

László Toroczkai, president of Mi Hazánk, occupies the largest rental property at 108 square meters in the V. district for 490,000 forints per month. In contrast, the least expensive rental is a 44-square-meter apartment in the VI. district used by Fidesz member Sándor Kovács, costing 271,987 forints monthly.

Regarding office expenses, György Velkey is identified as the sole user of a 104-square-meter office on Róna Street, which costs 1.04 million forints per month.
