Hungarian police bust construction theft in Salgótarján and drug network in Dunaújváros

In Salgótarján, police from the local police headquarters arrested four men aged 19 to 29 who repeatedly broke into a residential building under renovation between June 12‑16, stealing construction materials, tools and other items and causing damage estimated at several million forints. The suspects were detained on June 16, and part of the stolen goods was recovered. The 19‑ and 23‑year‑old men are also suspected of a separate theft on April 4 and June 11 that damaged victims for about 120 thousand forints; the older pair are being investigated for further organized thefts.

In Dunaújváros, a coordinated police operation resulted in the detention of seven people suspected of drug trafficking, following an investigation that began in the summer of 2025 after intelligence about drug sales in Nagyvenyim. Authorities seized amphetamine‑type substances, large amounts of cash, jewelry, mobile phones and a vehicle. Six of the detained are accused of drug‑trafficking offenses and one of simple drug possession. The investigation of the distribution network continues.
