Hungarian police dismantle drug networks in Kecskemét and Szeged

Hungarian authorities have conducted significant anti-drug operations in Kecskemét and Szeged.

In Kecskemét, the Bács-Kiskun County Chief Prosecutor's Office has charged eight members of a drug network. The investigation began when a primary suspect was caught receiving 6.5 kg of marijuana in a shopping center parking lot. The group reportedly sourced cocaine from Spain through an accomplice. To expand operations in early 2024, a member of the ring provided 20 million forints in capital. The seizure included 20 bags of marijuana, each weighing between 300 and 400 grams.

In Szeged, police conducted multiple raids following reports of drug use and trafficking at Szent György Square. These operations led to the detention of approximately 30 suspected drug users and the arrest of three dealers. Additional enforcement actions on Londoni körút resulted in the apprehension of two more suspected dealers.
