Hungarian police locate missing elderly man and rescue injured hiker
In Nógrád County, officers of the Pásztói Police Captaincy rescued two people within two days. On July 28 they found a 60‑year‑old blind, seriously ill man who had been missing for 24 hours in dense brush and transferred him to hospital with minor injuries. The following day they located a 46‑year‑old woman who had fallen while hiking to the Gortva–Jójárt lookout, treated her broken ankle and extracted her with the help of rescue teams and an off‑road vehicle.
Separately, the Hódmezővásárhely Police Captaincy announced a search for 74‑year‑old Imre György Tóth, who disappeared on July 30. Authorities have issued a public appeal, providing his description and asking anyone with information to contact the Csongrád‑Csanád County police or the emergency number 112.
