Hungarian political figures launch new social dialogue and civic initiatives

New political initiatives are emerging in Hungary aimed at fostering social dialogue and bridging political divides. Márk Radnai, a commissioner and Vice President of the Tisza Party, announced the upcoming launch of ‘Közhang’, a social dialogue platform designed to facilitate genuine communication between the government and society.

Unlike traditional national consultations, Közhang is intended to function as an online platform where users can participate in decision-making processes. The system aims to collect, visualize, and present public opinions to relevant ministries. To encourage participation, the platform will allow for anonymous input, though it may collect basic demographic data such as age and location.

In a separate development, Tibor Navracsics and Orsolya Ferencz, former government officials, have introduced a new political movement. Defining themselves as ‘civil democrats’, they aim to initiate a dialogue regarding Hungary’s future to overcome the extreme polarization currently affecting the country’s unity and effectiveness.
