Hungarian politicians transition to municipal roles and independent status

Several former Hungarian parliamentary representatives who lost their seats in the April elections have secured advisory or professional roles within municipal governments. In Budapest, Ágnes Vadai (DK) began working as an advisor for the III. District municipality with a monthly gross salary of 1.075 million HUF, focusing on monitoring legislative developments. Zsolt Gréczy (DK) has been involved in cultural and community programming for the XI. District's Újbuda 60+ program, earning a monthly gross of 650,000 HUF. Additionally, former Jobbik representative Dániel Z. Kárpát worked for the Óbuda municipality, though he terminated his contract and returned his compensation after the local council decided to outsource similar tasks to his association.

In Kaposvár, municipal representative Péter Vörös announced his departure from the Fidesz-KDNP faction to continue his work as an independent. Vörös, who also serves as the director of the MATE Kaposvár Campus, stated that his decision was driven by the increasing influence of party politics on professional matters. He emphasized that his priority remains the service of Kaposvár rather than partisan interests.
