Hungarian President calls for judicial reforms in Parliament

During a plenary session of the Hungarian Parliament, President András Baka addressed the need for deep reforms to rebuild democratic institutions and ensure the rule of law. He emphasized the importance of a balanced relationship between the Prosecutor General's Office and the Constitutional Court.

Baka noted that the authority of the prosecution has been undermined in recent years due to its handling of criminal justice and internal power struggles. He called for the timely election of a new head for the institution and urged for professional impartiality rather than political intimidation. He further stressed that uncovering past legal violations must be conducted on a strictly legal basis to uphold the moral and constitutional superiority of the rule of law.
