Hungarian rail and road services face disruptions

Rail and road transportation in Hungary is experiencing disruptions due to technical failures and infrastructure maintenance. A Napfény InterCity train traveling from Budapest Nyugati towards Szeged was delayed at Kőbánya-Kispest due to a malfunction. To assist passengers, replacement buses have been deployed from Kecskemét, Kiskunfélegyháza, and Kistele, with a stop in Szatymaz.

In Szeged, construction at a busy road-rail crossing near the Kálvária sugárút, between the Szeged-Rendező and Szeged-Rókus stations, is causing significant traffic congestion. Drivers are reportedly struggling to follow detour signage, leading to frequent U-turns and delays.

As part of the ongoing track maintenance, passenger trains between Szeged and Békéscsaba are operating only between Szeged-Rókus and Békéscsaba. While the Napfény InterCity schedules have seen only minor adjustments, some services will now stop at Kiskundorozsma to facilitate transfers to replacement buses. Local bus services, including Volán line 36, have also implemented modified schedules to accommodate the changes.
