Hungarian railway maintenance disrupts services in Békés County
The state railway company (MÁV) announced extensive nighttime maintenance on several lines in Hungary's Békés County during June. The work includes noise‑producing activities on the Békéscsaba–Kötegyán–Szeghalom line, the Szeged–Orosháza–Békéscsaba line, and the Szolnok–Békéscsaba–Lőkösháza line, with specific periods ranging from June 1 to June 26. Travelers are asked for patience as the work may generate noise at stations, open‑track sections and level crossings.
To mitigate the impact on passengers, replacement bus services will operate between Vésztő and Sarkad and between Sarkad and Kötegyán from June 1 to June 3 while the rail sections are closed for maintenance. The buses follow the regular train schedule as closely as possible, with adjusted departure and arrival times. Additional information about changes on the Orosháza–Mezőtúr line will be provided later.
