Hungarian railways announce maintenance-related service disruptions
Major railway maintenance works in Hungary will lead to significant schedule changes and the use of replacement buses on several lines.
Between August 27 and 30, MÁV will perform track maintenance between Vác and Verőce, as well as at Verőce station. This includes removing slow signals and replacing a switch in Verőce. Some work will occur at night, potentially increasing noise levels for local residents. Consequently, Z70 and S70 train services will face delays or be replaced by buses between Vác and Szob.
From September 11 to 22, maintenance on the Győr–Sopron line will necessitate replacement buses between Győr and Csorna. Passengers traveling toward Sopron, Szombathely, Szentgotthárd, or Zalaegerszeg should expect modified schedules and longer travel times. Several InterCity services, including the ASCARBANTIA, ASAVARIA, AMURA, and DRÁVA, will be affected, with some requiring bus transfers or alternative routes between Budapest and Győr.
