Hungarian real estate market sees more sellers than buyers
A recent analysis by Ingatlan.com reveals a significant shift in the Hungarian real estate market. For the first time, the proportion of people intending to sell properties (7.9%) has surpassed those intending to buy (7.3%).
Interest in purchasing homes has declined sharply, particularly in Budapest and Pest County, where the percentage of prospective buyers dropped from 13.2% to 7.9% over the past year. In cities with populations between 10,000 and 300,000, the figure fell from 10.5% to 6.6%.
Selling activity has increased, especially in smaller settlements where intent rose from 7.2% to 12.1%. Additionally, the proportion of households without children planning to sell nearly doubled. Investment-driven buying has also seen a downturn, with the share of such buyers falling from 18.2% to 16.5% annually.
