Hungarian State Treasury announces 2026 benefit payment schedules

The Hungarian State Treasury has released updated schedules for various social benefits and pensions for 2026.

For pensioners receiving payments via bank transfer, the expected credit date for September is Friday, September 11, 2026. This is one day earlier than the usual 12th of the month because September 12 falls on a Saturday. Those receiving payments via the post office should refer to the Hungarian Post's specific disbursement calendar, as their schedule differs from bank transfers.

Regarding family support, the next bank credit for family allowances is expected on Monday, August 24, 2026. This period also marks the beginning of the school start support distribution. Eligible families can receive a total of 100,000 HUF per child, split into two parts: a 50,000 HUF cash payment due by August 24, 2026, and a 50,000 HUF school voucher to be distributed by November 30, 2026. This support is intended for purchasing school supplies, equipment, and clothing.
