Hungarian taxi firm hides about 200 million forint in revenue, faces tax penalties

Hungarian tax authority (NAV) investigated a passenger‑transport company that failed to meet tax obligations and did not cooperate with the audit. Using online invoice data and information from partner dispatch services, NAV reconstructed the firm’s actual turnover.

The audit showed the company concealed nearly 200 million forint in revenue for the reported year and issued about 50 million forint of falsified invoices for services such as car repair, green‑area maintenance and advertising that were never performed. The tax shortfall exceeds 60 million forint, and the firm faces a 200 percent tax surcharge plus interest.
