Hungarian theater season adds new productions in Arad and Budapest

The Aradi Kamaraszínház is staging two one‑act comedies by Anton Chekhov – The Proposal and The Bear – in a shared program at the Dankó Pista Cultural House. The shows opened on July 23, with tickets priced at 200 forints.

In Budapest, the Central Theater in Szigliget will present a new translation of Neil Simon’s The Odd Couple in August. The production marks the first time that veteran actors Alföldi Róbert and Stohl András appear together as a stage pair, under the direction of Puskás Tamás. It runs from 8 to 15 August for eight performances.
