Hungarian theaters host open house and new autumn performance series
Cultural institutions in Hungary are hosting various events to engage the public. The Weöres Sándor Theater held an open house event where attendees could observe rehearsals for two performances. The event included an auction in the lobby featuring theatrical relics, such as props from the play ‘Pornó’ and a necktie worn by Tamás Jordán in ‘Az ügynök halála’. Participants also offered creative donations, including a cake shaped like an iconic pink flamingo from the production ‘Candide’.
In Szeged, the MASZK Association is launching an autumn program consisting of six different performances. The ‘Autumn Collection’ spans multiple genres, including puppet theater, rural drama, and stand-up comedy. Highlights include a family puppet show at the Old Synagogue garden and a drama set on Great Plain farms titled ‘Szahara’. Other scheduled productions include a play exploring the themes of alcoholism and social issues, aimed at both adult and family audiences.
