Hungarian Transport Minister Vitégy Restores Online Train Info Service

Transport and Investment Minister Vitégy Dávid announced that the Vonatinfó web portal, which provides real‑time tracking of MÁV trains, is again publicly accessible. He said the service will soon be integrated into the MÁV+ online platform and mobile app, further easing passenger planning and response to disruptions. The electronic maintenance information system (EMIG) has also been reopened to the public.

In a separate interview, Vitégy contrasted the current Tisza‑government’s approach with that of the previous Orbán administration, stressing a shift toward public‑interest‑driven decision‑making. He highlighted his role in coordinating the use of roughly 6 000 billion forints of EU funds earmarked for new commuter and InterCity train procurements, and described a newly formed task force aimed at efficiently accessing these resources while strengthening anti‑corruption safeguards. He criticised earlier management of rail projects and emphasized the ministry’s commitment to transparent, timely actions.
