Hungarian triathletes win historic medals at World Championships
Hungarian triathletes achieved significant success at the World Triathlon Championships in Pontevedra. Zalán Hóbor secured a bronze medal in the U23 individual race, finishing strongly in the running segment after maintaining a position in the lead group throughout the swimming and cycling stages.
In the Junior/U23 mixed relay, the Hungarian team—consisting of Fanni Szalai, Gyula Kovács, Márta Kropkó, and Zalán Hóbor—won a historic silver medal. The team finished with a time of 1:07:59, trailing the French team by only 14 seconds and ahead of the Spanish squad. This marks the first time a Hungarian youth relay team has won a world championship medal in this age group.
In the elite men's category, Márk Dévay recorded the highest placement among the Hungarian competitors, finishing in 23rd position.
