Hungarian Two-Tailed Dog Party elects new leadership

The Hungarian Two-Tailed Dog Party (MKKP) has completed a leadership restructuring, moving away from its previous co-presidency model to a new three-person leadership structure. Csanád Tóth-Benedek has been elected as the new president, supported by Zoltán Várady and Sándor Budai as vice presidents. The new leadership will serve a four-year term.

This transition follows the decision by former co-president Gergely Kovács not to seek re-election, citing the difficulty of balancing party duties with his role as mayor. The party is currently focused on several key objectives, including the legal repayment of campaign subsidies to the state following its failure to reach the 5% threshold in the 2026 elections.

The new leadership aims to maintain the party's core values, which include prioritizing action and creative citizenship over traditional political rhetoric, emphasizing social and environmental activities, and focusing on transparent communication and volunteerism.
