Hungarian U18 athletes shine at Nyíregyháza tri‑nation meet

Four teenage athletes from Békés represented the DAC club at the traditional Hungarian‑Czech‑Slovak U18 competition in Nyíregyháza. They contributed points that helped the Hungarian team secure second place overall.

Individual performances included Alföldi Sára Kata winning the women’s 5,000‑metre walk with a personal best of 24:02.41, and also setting a personal record in the same event despite competing barefoot. Kelemen Bernadett placed third in her discipline, while Mézes Virág Emese achieved a personal best on the 2,000‑metre obstacle, finishing sixth. Wágner Balázs earned third place in the men’s javelin throw, reaching a distance close to his best. The athletes are aiming to build on these results at the July European Championships in Italy.
