Hungarian Universities Hold Pont Ott Party for Admissions Results

On Thursday, Hungarian university admission point thresholds were announced in a series of "Pont Ott Party" events. The central celebration took place at ELTE's Lágymányos campus in Budapest, while ten additional venues across the country – including Pannon University, Debrecen University, Miskolc University, Nyíregyháza University, Eszterházy Károly Catholic University, University of Pécs, Széchenyi István University, and separate events in Gyula, Tatabánya and Szeged – hosted concerts, performances and other festivities for incoming students.

In parallel, a study of self‑financed university programmes examined tuition fees and expected first‑job salaries for the 2026 intake. Analyzing 55 popular courses, the research found virtually no correlation between programme popularity and the gross earnings of recent graduates, indicating that financial return is not the primary factor in students' choice of study.
