Hungarian universities host summer children's university camps in Kanizsa and Szeged

Pannon University’s Circular Economy Centre and the Soós Ernő Research‑Development Centre organised a five‑day children’s university in Kanizsa, welcoming 29 primary‑school pupils. Participants engaged in hands‑on experiments in physics, biology, chemistry, informatics and microbiology, programmed robots, explored UV light effects and took part in a “number battle”. The program concluded with a ceremony awarding “kistudós” certificates to the young attendees.

At the same time, the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Szeged launched its first Juniversity summer children’s university. Fifty‑five students aged 10‑18 attended a week‑long camp featuring philosophy debates, bone examinations, anthropology workshops, and a live‑library format. The initiative aimed to introduce participants to the humanities and social sciences while familiarising them with university life. Both camps sought to spark curiosity, encourage scientific and scholarly thinking, and foster long‑term interest in academic studies among Hungarian youth.
