Hungarian universities upgrade facilities and integrate robotics

Hungarian universities are implementing significant upgrades to infrastructure and technology for the new academic year.

Széchenyi István University has completed a 195 million HUF renovation of its Cuha Street dormitory in Győr. Formerly used as a workers' hostel, the facility has been modernized with 52 renovated apartments, providing 316 beds. The upgrade includes enhanced security measures, such as card and fingerprint access controlled by 24-hour security personnel.

Gábor Dénes University reported a 24 percent increase in first-year students, reaching over one thousand enrollments. The institution is integrating advanced technology into its curriculum, aiming to supplement traditional lectures with closed-system digital materials. Notably, a humanoid robot accompanied by a four-legged robotic companion participated in the university's freshman swearing-in ceremony, marking its first year in the university's Artificial Intelligence laboratory.
