Hungarian viticulture and nature exploration reports
The Hungarian Wine Academy conducted a two-day professional excursion near Lake Balaton, focusing on the activities of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences (MATE) Institute of Viticulture and Enology. The visit included the Badacsony Research Station, which has a history dating back to 1951. Experts noted that while recent harvest quantities have decreased, overall quality remains satisfactory. Current research at the station emphasizes grape breeding, variety value, and environmentally friendly cultivation methods, including the study of vegan wines.
In the Börzsöny mountains, the Csarna-völgy area is highlighted for its ecological diversity. Spanning approximately 1,500 hectares of forest, the region is part of the Duna-Ipoly National Park and is noted for its significant flora and fauna.
