Hungarian Women's Volleyball Extraliga season begins

The 2026/27 TippmixPro Women's Volleyball Extraliga season is set to begin, featuring nine teams. Defending champion Vasas SC enters the season as a favorite under new head coach Luca Bucaioni, who previously served as an assistant at Milan's Vero Volley. Vasas aims to secure a sixth consecutive title, which would tie them with Újpesti Dózsa for the longest championship streak in the league.

Békéscsaba, a former bronze medalist, will open their season against TFSE. Following significant roster changes over the summer, Békéscsaba has retained five domestic players, including Petra Kertész and Luca Németh, while adding several international players from Serbia, Cuba, Russia, and Colombia. The team is led by new captain Andrea Pintér.
