Hungarian wrestlers secure ten top seeds for World Championships

Ten of the thirteen Hungarian wrestlers entering the World Championships in Astana will compete as top-eight seeds in their respective weight classes. This high number of seeded athletes highlights the strength of the Hungarian wrestling program, with only Russia and Azerbaijan fielding more top-ranked competitors.

Among the Hungarian contenders, four Greco-Roman wrestlers are expected to enter as top seeds: István Váncza (72 kg), Róbert Fritsch (77 kg), Alex Szőke (97 kg), and Dárius Vitek (130 kg). Other notable Hungarian participants include Ismail Muszukajev (70 kg), Murad Kuramagomedov (74 kg), Richárd Végh (97 kg), Vlaslav Bajcayev (125 kg), and Noémi Szabados (68 kg).

The tournament is scheduled to begin next Saturday and will run until November 1 in the Kazakh capital.
