Hungarian youth science camps open in Dombrád and Szeged

The Fiatal Tehetség Program held a week‑long FIT camp in Dombrád for sixth‑ and seventh‑grade students from Kecskemét. Participants engaged in self‑defence, folk games, drama workshops, science experiments and created music with artificial‑intelligence tools. A FIT Olympiad tested teamwork and agility, and awards recognised effort and community spirit.

Separately, the Faculty of Geography and Earth Sciences at the University of Szeged hosted its first summer camp for children. The program offered hands‑on activities such as examining fossils, operating meteorological instruments, exploring climate‑change topics, rock‑climbing and micro‑plastic analysis, aiming to spark interest in natural‑science careers.

Both camps emphasized experiential learning and aim to nurture future scientists by bringing university resources directly to young participants.
