Hungary activated a nationwide "red code" heat‑wave protocol after the extreme heat alert, assessing 81 social‑care and child‑protection facilities. Targeted plans led to the deployment of mobile air‑conditioners, standing ventilators and split units to the 23 most vulnerable institutions, with additional equipment still being installed. Water‑supply risks were identified at 28 sites and placed under continuous monitoring, with disaster‑relief services ready to provide rapid water replenishment.

The Ministry of Social and Family Affairs reported that the social and child‑protection systems are operating safely and no major incidents have occurred. Simultaneously, meteorological forecasts for the Carpathian Basin warn that temperatures could reach 39 °C by the weekend and possibly hit 40 °C later in June, putting further strain on vulnerable groups.
